January 9, 2018, Sharon, Mass., Sharon Public Library: “Living the Traveling Life: Living and Writing on the Road” Hopscotch with Dan from Hong Kong to the Grand Canyon, Nepal to England, Quebec City to the White Mountains. Dan will also talk about some common travel questions: How to eat, how to avoid getting sick, how to prepare for culture shock, and more. Presentation will include an hour-long multi-media presentation, followed by a Q&A and book signing. 11 North Main Street, 6:30-8pm. Free!

February 27, 2018, Bristol, NH, Minot-Sleeper Library: “Journey to Nepal: Living and Exploring the Highest Place on Earth” Dan’s book, “The Nepal Chronicles,” details his journey to Nepal to get married and then take a honeymoon trek to Everest Base Camp. Dan and his wife trekked unguided and unportered, and spent our months living in Sherpa homes and tea houses. Dan went back to Nepal after the recent earthquakes and adopted an orphanage to help rebuild. This multi-media presentation tracks Dan’s fish out of water story and his journey to become part of a country, culture and family unlike any he’s ever known. Followed by Q & A and book signing. 35 Pleasant Street, 7-8:30pm. Free!

    Dan, thank you for your wonderful presentation last evening on The Nepal Chronicles. I thoroughly enjoyed your slides and insights. Two weeks ago a friend of mine and his companion started their hike to the 18,000 foot Base Camp and at 14,000 feet they had to be helicoptered to a hospital in Kathmandu . Now when I meet him I can appreciate more his quest.
